Susan Safari Botsigara, 29 years, responsible social worker Susan is a qualified teacher. Before she joined the UCC for 5 years ago, she worked as a teacher at an international school in Kampala. Susan is responsible for the social workers who work from each school. Therefore, it is Susan who keep-day course for them and she is around to oversee their work. Susan has a big heart filled with caring and empathy for others, so
it's no wonder that her motto is that we are created to love others. Susan is married to her policeman and together the couple have a son aged 1 year.
Annet Namata, 24 years, maid of Ole & Lisbeth Annet is the mother of 2 beautiful young children, Isaac, at 2 years and Millie, who is about 4 months old. Annet is a beautiful young girl who has worked with us for just over 3 years. Annet is very grateful for her work because she has a slight disability which makes it difficult for her to get a job.She was born clubfoot, and when her family could not afford to have her
surgery when she was small she must live with the rest of their lives. But Annet has a strong will so that she can handle what she sits on and is actually just as mobile as anyone else.
David Okoya Mandj, 27 years, gardener + partly responsible for security firm Okoya has many responsibilities. First and foremost, he is our gardener. Then he is partly responsible for the security Socially which provides guards for UCCs houses. Okoya is married to Janet, who works in the Café frikadelle. Okoya is a professional boxer, he has won several national medals.
Harriet Nayiga, 34 years, secretary Harriet is secretary and her main responsibility is to typing fathering children's profiles in the database. In addition, she could handle in UCCs Craft Shop. Harriet is married but her husband does not deal with the couple's 2 small children, so in the real world, she is single mom.
Daniel Mweluka, 22 years, tailor in UCCs workroom Daniel is a talented tailor who sews both school uniforms as well as
beautiful things to UCCs craft shop, for example, bags, aprons and
potholders. Daniel comes into our church, where he is our faithful drummer. He enjoys being with people and is a fresh young man.
Resty Namirimu, 31 years, a seamstress in UCCs workroom Restys legs are paralyzed. When she was about
4 years old, she got very high fever and the doctor gave her an
injection, which have been a medication error or an excessive dose, it
paralyzed her legs on the ground. Resty have learned to sew and weave mats at a Catholic center near Jinja. She lives in Masaka with Nicholas, whom she takes care of. She has a big heart to help him. Currently she is living with her younger sister, also with her along with her little baby boy. Her sister, dreams of becoming a hairdresser so she can support themselves. Resty loves her work and we are happy for her.She does not speak so much English, but she always smiles - and it may be worth more than many words!
Kezia Naktiende, 27 years, responsible "clinical officers" in UCCs mobile clinic Kezia is a trained clinical officer who is an education that is close to a medical doctor.The only thing a clinical
officer can not do is to operate, but Kezia is fully
qualified to be responsible for the mobile clinic, which employ nurses
to help with field work as needed. Kezia is a very sweet young woman who has heart in working for children. She come from a very large family, so she has 20 siblings, of which she is one of the oldest. Kezia has been good at school, so she was lucky to have her education paid by the State.
George Kafeero, 60 years, mechanic and driver, George is our "mzee".That is the way to title an elderly gentleman if you will show him respect as one of the Ugandan culture should do. George is really nice to have with us. He is trained mechanic, so he sure to check water and oil at all UCCs vehicles.In addition, he works as a driver, when needed. Goerge is married with Justeen, tailor. The couple has 5 adult children and many grandchildren.
Charles Oguttu, 26 years, stock and purchasing of UCCs catalog 12 years agoCharles went in P6 at a school in Kampala, where Ruth taught. His family had fled from Kenya, where their mentally
ill father pursued them. The single mother was therefore responsible
for 5 children, of whom Charles was the middle. They lived a hard life in unbearable conditions and we did what we could to help the family in particular by teaching Charles' sister in the computer. This lovely family got a special place in our
hearts, so we will always love them and we are proud that Charles has
joined us in Masaka. His is responsible for buying gifts for the sponsored children..
Magaret Walugembe, 36 years Accounting Officer, and administrative tasks Margaret is a polite young woman who always remembers to say hello
nicely to people with a sweet good morning, good afternoon or whatever
is appropriate! Margaret performs its tasks with great precision, which makes her a good accountant.Addition to the accounts she provides to print received online orders
from and to upload pictures online when gifts are delivered. Margaret also ensure that our volunteers have their visa in order. Margaret is the single mom to 2 children. One is her biological son and the other is an adopted daughter, whom she took because she is an orphan.
Moses Kikabi, 31 years, Administrator Moses was educated schoolteacher, but he works as an administrator in the UCC, where he has many responsibilities. He is responsible for the delivery of online orders, but additionally he doing many different things. Moses is skilled in leading and organizing, so he has many tasks when teams are visiting us. Moses is loyal and reliable, so it is often the one who get to visit new schools we are considering working with.Similarly, it is also Moses traveling to Congo and Kenya, where there is a need for it. Moses is also a copastor in our church, Masaka International Church,
where Moses often have tasks such as managing meetings, translate, or
preach.
